Umm...we had a little accident

Last Monday Eric and I decided to take Mac to our neighborhood pool for a little swim. When we got there we noticed that the baby pool was empty and decided to take him in there. We were in the pool for about 5 minutes when I saw the lifeguard get off of his stand and VERY slowly make his way over to us. This kid says to us in the most monotone voice "Umm, the baby pool's closed." We kind of thought he was kidding and we just looked at him slowly started getting out of the pool. Eric asked him if he was serious and the guy says "Ummm, yeah, we had a little accident." I immediately realized that not only had some kid pooped in the pool, but that we had most likely just put our child in a pool filled with massive amounts of chlorine! I asked him if they had shocked the water and his reply, again completely monotone, "Yeah...you may want to go shower off." Oh well, I guess no one's skin fell off so I think that we'll survive =)

Now here's a question for any of you computer savy people...something is wrong with my blog; everytime I try to post a picture the "link"for the picture pops up instead of the picture itself. I used to see the actual image but now something like this pops up: b ref"4=month....etc, etc. It's a really long thing and I don't know how to fix it! I have also lost the button that allowed me to edit the font...HELP!!!!

I actually just back from College Station this morning...Mac and I made a quick overnight trip up there to take Heisman to the vet (long story). We got to have lunch with the Cargill's:

And then we got to spend the night at my cousins house. I really miss College Station sometimes.

And last but not least...here are some pics from the past week:

Happy First Father's Day to Eric! My hope is that Mac grows up to be just like his daddy...I look at the two of them together and it just makes me smile.

My little man is in the process of losing all of that gorgeous dark hair. He kind of has the bald man look going on right now. Every time I kiss him on top of the head I end up with a mouthful of hair! Maybe all my kisses have made him go bald! =)

He also enjoys a good game of peek-a-boo with Mommy

Mac is growing so fast. He has gotten pretty good control over his big old head and has even shown some attempts to roll over. But my favorite thing now is Mac's laugh. He gets so tickled and it just makes my day!

5 Wonderful Years!

I cannot believe that today is my 5 year wedding anniversary. As cliché as it sounds…it seems like just yesterday that we were walking down the aisle! These have been without a doubt, the most fantastic 5 years of my life. Eric, I really do not know where I would be without you. Somehow I found the perfect person to share my life with and I cannot even begin to express how much you mean to me. When we “be wed” I could have never imagined this life we have. You have given me a beautiful baby boy and more love than I ever deserved. “As Do I” (Eric knows what that means =) ).

And…today Mac turned 4 months old! Unfortunately for him that meant a trip to the doctor for his shots. He did well other than getting mad and kicking the syringes off the table while they were trying to give him the injections. Not much crying, and so far no fevers or anything like that…in fact he has slept most of the day. The doctor told us that we can go ahead and start him on some rice cereal. She said we can either add it to his bottle or try to spoon feed him. She recommends spoon feeding because it starts teaching them how to eat from something other than a bottle so we gave it a shot. He wasn’t too sure at first, but after a while he seemed to enjoy it…even got a few chuckles out of him. He looked like a rabid dog because he couldn’t quite seem to figure out how to swallow the stuff, but we’re working on it!

All in all…it has been a great day! Happy Anniversay/4 month birthday to my favorite guys!

Stuff...

I took Mac to the Dr. the other day because we thought he had pink eye (where he would get pink eye I don't know). It turned out to be a clogged tear duct. It was so nasty looking, but the stuff they gave us cleared it up in less than 24 hours. The boy has been growing! When I took him in for his 2 month check up he was 25% for height and weight and 50% for his head....now he is a little over 14 lbs (50%), 25 inches (65%) and his head circumference puts him in the 75%! He has a big old head. But the doctor said he is right where he should be. Words a mom loves to hear.

Yesterday was Heisman's 4th birthday (yes I know when his birthday is) and we had a "party" for him. We have some friends in the area that have dogs so we invited them to come over last night. Heisman had so much fun. I even made a doggie birthday cake for them =)...Here is a picture of Heisman and his guests ( I love the goofy smile too!):

The sky was so beautiful last night so we took a few pictures out on the deck:

I have been trying to upload a video on here for the past 45 minutes and I am officially giving up now!...I will try again tomorrow because it is so cute!

Changes...

So many changes is so little time!...

Well, as most of you know, I will not be returning to work. I will be a stay at home Mom. The plan was for me to come back to work part time, but because of some things at work my department said that they needed me to come back full-time. Eric and I talked about it and I just really did not want to give up this precious time that I have with Mac. I don't think that I will ever look back and say I wish I had of gone back to work instead of staying home with him. I went up to work today and cleaned out my desk/said my good byes. The good part of this whole thing is that I am leaving on good terms and when I do decide to go back and if there is an opening it will not be a problem.

When all of this first happened I went into panic mode. I just wasn't sure what to do. I honestly believe that EVERYTHING happens for a reason. Now that doesn't mean I'm happy when things don't go my way, but everything always seems to work out for the best. And here is the ultimate example...the girl that was going to be watching Mac lives right across the street...she just found out that she is pregnant, her husband lost his job, and they are moving back to California in the next few weeks. We would have been without childcare if I had of decided to go back. I really am so excited to get to stay home with Mac...it seems like everyday he is doing something new and I don't want to miss a minute.

It has been a while since I blogged and there has been a lot going on...Mac has had a little bit of a rough patch. He has snored/grunted since the day he was born. That never really bothered me, but he also "gasps" (that's really the only way I know how to describe it) when he is asleep. Obviously this is not a comforting sound. It hasn't necessarily gotten worse but it hasn't gotten any better either. After seeing 2 ENTs and having a tube shoved down his nose and throat twice we have at least gotten some explanation for his symptoms. The doctor said that the back of his throat, around the area of his voice box, is "irritated and inflamed." He said that the irritation is most likely due to a mild case of acid reflux. If you have ever heard him cry this also explains his "raspy" little voice. Now the inflammation/swelling is the question...for now he is on Prevacid for the reflux and Dexamethasone drops (a steroid) for the inflammation. He has 1 month to get better or the doctor recommended putting him under anesthesia to look further at his throat. Needless to say we are praying that this works. I cannot even begin to imagine handing my baby boy over to someone for any type of surgical procedure. The one thing that makes me feel better is that our really good friend is a pediatrician at Texas Children's and he recommended the doctor we are seeing before I ever even mentioned his name.

Now onto happier times....as I mentioned in my last post Eric turned 29! I told him this is his last year to be "young." I actually think that Eric has the spirit of a 10 year old boy so he may not be young, but he always acts like it. I mean the guys worst quality is that he laughs at me if we are in the middle of a fight (that and not picking up his dirty clothes). I really could never ask for a better husband. Here is a picture of Mac enjoying Daddy's birthday (at 5am)

And I have to say, I am very proud of myself. I actually left Mac for the first time over night. My sister came over to our house and watched him so that Eric and I could make our annual Memorial Day weekend trip to Lake Conroe...thanks sis! And I didn't call once!...Eric actually called before I did!...but I was so ready to get back that next morning to see that cute little face.

We spent Memorial Day with Eric's brother Andrew, his girlfriend Kirstie, and sister Robin. Mac just hates getting attention so it was really rough on him =). I blew up my o-so-fancy inflatable pool in the back yard just to test out "swimming" with Mac. He actually seemed to like it...well, he didn't hate it. I want to try and take him to the real pool sometime soon!

Mac has finally decided that tummy time is not so bad after all. I can't figure out why this came out sideways...This is the funniest video of I have seen of Mac...and my favorite until he does something cuter =):

And as always, here are some of my favorite pictures from the past week!
